February 9, 2011 - As had been reported yesterday, Lindsay Lohan has been officially charged with felony grand theft and will be appearing in court today.

The starlet was accused of stealing a necklace worth $2,500 from a jewelry store in Venice, California. Lindsay, however, claims she only borrowed it, and her stylist forgot to fill the paperwork necessary to do so.

The store turned in a surveillance video to L.A. Police that shows Lindsay wearing the necklace inside the store and walking out with it on. An additional photo shows Lindsay with the necklace on while she is being pursued by the press.
Lindsay Lohan was tipped off about search warrant before she returned necklaceThe L.A. County District Attorney's Office announced the charges Wednesday morning and Lindsay was ordered to appear for a hearing at 1:30 p.m. Prosecutors recommendation for bail was at $20,000.
If the Mean Girls star is convicted, she could face up to one year in prison.
