January 31, 2011 - The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Sunday night and top honorees included Colin Firth, Natalie Portman and Betty White.
Coming as no surprise to most, Portman won for Best Actress in Black Swan, where she portrayed a ballet dancer whose obsession with dance makes her go insane.
Although it is a good film in and of itself, Black Swan quickly became known for its riské lesbian scene between Natalie and her co star, Mila Kunis. Kunis, was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but that award went to Melissa Leo for her work in The Fighter.
Colin Firth won Best Actor for The King's Speech, beating some stiff competition including James Franco for 127 Hours, and Jesse Eisenberg for The Social Network. The Best Supporting Actor Award went to Christian Bale for The Fighter.
A very well received win on Sunday went to Betty White, who won her very first SAG Award at the age of 89 for Best Actress in a Comedy TV Series in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland.
"I cannot believe this. I must say this is the biggest surprise I've ever had in this business." White said while accepting her award on stage.
Other winners included Julianna Marguiles, who won Best Actress in a TV Drama for The Good Wife, Alec Baldwin, who snagged Best Actor in a Comedy TV Series for 30 Rock and Steve Buscemi, who received the Best Actor in a Drama TV Series for Boardwalk Empire.
