'DWTS' Michael Bolton's elimination creates backstage controversy

"I was disappointed with Bruno -- to me, he let everybody down. My mom was there, she's 90, she flew down to see the show ... and I just didn't expect that level of disrespect from him." Michael said on Good Morning America earlier today. "I think he should apologize publicly and he should be reprimanded for it," He added.

Bruno infamously slammed Michael for dancing "the worst jive" he's seen in 11 seasons.

Michael's fellow dance contestants on the hit show also agreed that Bruno's comments were inappropriate and "mean." The crooner's pro-dance partner Chelsie Hightower said that, "I don't know where it came from, I really don't. It was hard to hear."

Dancing with the Stars: Latin Cardio Dance"It's just rude when someone works so hard, and they have never danced before, and then you give them that criticism. If he never worked and was lazy and never came into the studio, that's one thing, but the fact that someone like Michael Bolton comes here and pours his heart out and then gets treated like that, it's not a good thing." Dancer Cheryl Burke noted, adding that Michael would often be practicing at the studio until two in the morning.

Were the 'DWTS' judges too hard on Michael Bolton?

The other contestants also said that the judges should give constructive criticism, but not put the dancers down in such a lowly way. They are all here working hard trying to improve, there is no need to be so harshly negative.

"If he never worked and was lazy and never came into the studio, that's one thing, but the fact that someone like Michael Bolton comes here and pours his heart out and then gets treated like that, it's not a good thing." Cheryl concluded.

Do you think Bruno should apologize?
