The stakes have now been raised on 'The Vampire Diaries'

February 11, 2011 - The latest episode of The Vampire Diaries has certainly raised the stakes for our friends at Mystic Falls.

A lot of new information was revealed on Crying Wolf and things are certainly getting complicated. The biggest shock being, when Bonnie (Katerina Graham), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) got the truth out of Luka (Bryton James).

New 'Vampire Diaries' episode 'Crying Wolf' airs Thursday

Doing a powerful spell, Bonnie put Luka in a trance and he spilled the truth about why he and his dad are working with Elijah (Daniel Gillies).

Apparently, Klaus has Luka's sister and the only way to get her back is to kill him. So if the father and son warlock team help Elijah, he promises to kill Klaus and get Luka's sister back. To do that, Elijah needs to sacrifice Elena, the doppleganger, and complete the lifting of the vampire and werewolf curse.

'Vampire Diaries' star Ian Somerhalder teases 'big showdown' at season's end

Things escalate when Elena (Nina Dobrev) confesses to Stefan (Paul Wesley) that she always knew she was going to die at the end, which really upsets him as he sees it all as a wasted tragedy.

Then, there's Tyler (Michael Trevino), who actually did the right thing at the lake house and let Stefan go so he could save Elena from Brady.

However, he still chose to leave town with Jules (Michaela McManus), someone who we don't trust at all. We hope he comes to his senses and returns to his real friends.
