Russell Armstrong's body was found by his wife Taylor and a friend

When Russel Armstrong was found after he hung himself, his body was actually discovered by his estranged wife, Taylor, star of The Real Housewives if Beverly Hills, and a friend.

When it was first learned that Russell had committed suicide, authorities said he had been found at the home he was staying in by his roommate. However, as ET has reported, Taylor and a friend were also there to witness the discovery of the troubled business man's body.

ET claims that when Russell didn't show up for an appointment with Taylor on Monday afternoon she became worried. Later on, she went with a friend to check on him at the home where he was staying at in L.A., where they ran into the residence's owner.

Once inside the house, Taylor and her friend were there to witness the discovery of Russell's body.

When Taylor spoke of Russell's suicide earlier on Tuesday, she did not speak about her being there to discover her husband. Then, later in the day, Bravo TV ordered the full cast of RHOBH not to speak to any media about the incident. So, there is no word who this information came from, but ET confirms it to be true.

Friends and family stunned at Russell Armstrong's suicide

Taylor had been estranged from Russell since she filed for divorce last month. The couple was having financial troubles and had been feuding throughout their stint on the reality show.

Taylor also cited that Russell had been physically and verbally abusive, although Russell claims he may have just pushed her in the heat of the moment during an argument.

Russell Armstrong "out of control" and deeply in debt before suicide

While it has come as a shock that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong's husband, Russell, committed suicide on Monday, friends say he was quickly getting "out of control."

No one was surprised when Taylor filed for divorce last month, as the couple was always fighting and their finances were in complete disarray. Taylor even accused Russel of physically abusing her.

Everyone on the set of RHOBH knew that Russell was in deep legal trouble and owed lots of money, "but never did anyone suspect he would kill himself," a close friend of Russell's told Us Weekly.

"He had lost everything, Taylor, his daughter, he was being sued." the friend said, "He felt totally out of control of his own life...Everything was spinning out of control."

Other sources close to the couple also said that Russell was dealing with huge amounts of emotional distress and that "his life was in shambles." Most people close to Russell knew full well that he was going through a very rough time, but none ever believed he would resort to suicide.
