Holly Durst and Michael Stagliano win $250,000 on 'Bachelor Pad'

September 13, 2011 - Bachelor Pad contestants Holly Durst and Michael Stagliano won the grand prize of $250,000 on the season finale of the dramatic and controversial reality show.

It took three hours for the winning couple to earn their prize on Monday's final episode of the hit ABC show. In the first hour, the remaining four couples competed on a Cirque-de-Soleil vertical wall, where one of the couples was eliminated.

'Bachelor Pad' finale preview is released: Intense challenges and drama

Ella Nolan and Kirk DeWindt were judged as the worst performers, marking the end of the road for them on the Pad. This left Holly and Mike with Michelle Money, Graham Bunn, Vienna Girardi and Kasey Kahl to move to the finals.

Then, Holly and Michael got to choose which couple they wanted to compete with in the final hour. After some hard decision-making, the pair chose Michelle and Graham, honoring the friendship they had developed during the show.

Rumor confirmed: Ben Flajnik is officially the next 'Bachelor'

Before the other 14 eliminated contestants voted on which couple they wanted to win, they got to talk about their experiences on Bachelor Pad. Jake Pavelka got to say his peace once more, while Vienna and her boyfriend Kasey continued to look like mean fools throughout all the clips that were shown of them during the show.

But, surprising everyone, Kasey actually got teary eyed and said he was disgusted at himself fro acting like that, genuinely apologized to Jake for his behavior. After doing so, he got a very evil, dirty look from Vienna who could not believe he'd just done that.

Then, the former Bachelorette contestant went as far as to question his relationship with Jake's ex, saying that it was not a healthy one.

"This is not the type of relationship I want to be in," Kasey said as a very concerned Vienna looked on in shock...

Another big surprise that took place during the finale was a previously taped engagement between Holly and Blake Julian, who apparently fell in love during their months together at the Bachelor mansion.

After all the drama was said and done, the contestants placed their votes, giving the majority to Holly and Mike. But it didn't end there; both winners had to go into a room and either pick "Share" or "Keep".

If they both picked "Share" they got to split the money, if both picked "Keep", either one got zip. But if one picked 'Keep", that person would get the whole $250,000 for themselves.

So, for a happy ending, both Holly and Michael chose to "Share" and they got to split their winnings!

The 'Bachelor Pad' premieres on ABC

The 'Bachelor Pad' premieres on ABC

The anticipated spin-off reality TV series Bachelor Pad premiered this Monday night and, as promised, was full of backstabbing, emotional and conniving drama!

The show features 19 rejected girls and guys from previous Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons. The premise of the Bachelor Pad is for the contestants to compete for a price of $250,000 and/or to find love. The way to fight for the grand prize is by eliminating the residents of the pad until there is only one standing in the end.

The guys get to eliminate the girls and vice-versa, which undoubtedly creates a vast playing field for lots of secret partnerships, deceiving behavior and lots of dirty tactics within the contestants.

Best of the BachelorThe first week saw the elimination of two contestants, a guy, Juan Barbieri, and a girl, Michelle Kujawa. The got axed for their reputation of being too controversial; Juan is conniving and a liar, while Michelle was deemed 'insane' by her fellow bachelorette contestants.
